🛡️ 1. Standard compulsory insurance (mandatory)
  • Basic insurance that you have to pay with every rent payment .

  • Cost: NZ$ 20 per day.

  • Excess:
    Drivers over 25 years of age: NZ$ 1,500 per incident.
    Drivers aged 21–24: NZ$ 2,000 per incident.

  • Applies to damage to the rented vehicle, third parties and accessories.

  • The total amount of insurance payments per rental can be limited (e.g., max. NZ$ 1,000).

🛞 2. Standard insurance with tire and windshield coverage
  • Includes additional coverage for tires and windshields with no additional excess.

  • Cost: NZ$ 30 per day.

  • Deductible:
    NZ$ 1,500 (over 25 years) / NZ$ 2,000 (21–24 years) for general damages.
    No excess for tire or windshield damage (exception: fitting service).

  • Total insurance costs per rental period are also limited.

🏆 3. Full Cover Insurance (All-Inclusive Package)
  • The most comprehensive coverage with a significantly reduced deductible.

  • Cost: NZ$ 40 per day.

  • Deductible:
    NZ$ 250 (over 25 years) / NZ$ 500 (21–24 years) for each instance of damage.

  • Contains:
    Standard insurance
    Tire and windshield cover

  • It also covers optional extras and additional hourly rates (depending on the source/interpretation).

  • The total amount per rental period is capped at a higher limit (e.g. NZ$ 2,000).
