The Wendekreisen Koru Star 3 Freedom is a self-sufficient 3-person campervan with generous amenities: two beds (double and single), a fully equipped kitchen with refrigerator, private shower and modern bathroom, solar panel power supply and diesel heating. Thanks to its comfortable furnishings and independent energy and water supply, it is perfect for couples, small families or groups of friends who want to explore New Zealand independently and flexibly.

The Wendekreisen Koru Star 3 Freedom is a self-contained campervan built on a robust high-roof chassis, ideal for freedom camping and extended road trips in New Zealand. With an efficient diesel engine, solar panel power supply, and generous equipment, it offers comfort on the road – even far from camping infrastructure.

  • Sleeping accommodations: for 3 people

  • Bed configuration:
    • Double bed below: approx. 1.83 m × 1.81 m – comfortable for two people
    • Single bed: approx. 1.83 m × 0.60 m / or three single beds possible (flexibly convertible)

🍳 Kitchen & Self-Catering

  • Kitchen: 2-burner gas hob and sink

  • Refrigerator: ~90 L (12 V)

  • Hot and cold water , pull-out pantry

  • 280 W solar panel + battery power storage for self-sufficient power supply
    This equipment allows you to camp independently of external supply points.

Insurance options

🛡️ 1. Standard compulsory insurance (mandatory)

  • Basic insurance that you have to pay with every rent payment .

  • Cost: NZ$ 20 per day.

  • Excess:
     Drivers over 25 years of age: NZ$ 1,500 per incident.
    Drivers aged 21–24: NZ$ 2,000 per incident.

  • Applies to damage to the rented vehicle, third parties and accessories.

  • The total amount of insurance payments per rental can be limited (e.g., max. NZ$ 1,000).

🛞 2. Standard insurance with tire and windshield coverage

  • Includes additional coverage for tires and windshields with no additional excess.

  • Cost: NZ$ 30 per day.

  • Deductible:
     NZ$ 1,500 (over 25 years) / NZ$ 2,000 (21–24 years) for general damages.
    No excess for tire or windshield damage (exception: fitting service).

  • Total insurance costs per rental period are also limited.

🏆 3. Full Cover Insurance (All-Inclusive Package)

  • The most comprehensive coverage with a significantly reduced deductible.

  • Cost: NZ$ 40 per day.

  • Deductible:
     NZ$ 250 (over 25 years) / NZ$ 500 (21–24 years) for each instance of damage.

  • Contains:
    Standard insurance
    Tire and windshield cover

  • It also covers optional extras and additional hourly rates (depending on the source/interpretation).

  • The total amount per rental period is capped at a higher limit (e.g. NZ$ 2,000).
